The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a revised list of its National Assembly candidates for Benue State ahead of the 2027 general elections, following an internal review by the party's National Working Committee (NWC). The changes affected both senatorial and House of Representatives tickets, with several aspirants replaced while others retained.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reshuffled its final list of National Assembly candidates for Benue State following the conclusion of the party's internal review process.
The revised list, submitted by the APC National Working Committee (NWC), altered the outcome of several party primaries and produced significant changes across the state's senatorial districts.
In Benue North East Senatorial District, former Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam lost the APC ticket to the incumbent senator, Emmanuel Memga Udende.
For Benue North West Senatorial District, Senator Titus Tartenger Zam emerged as the party's candidate, replacing Benjamin T. Aber.
In Benue South Senatorial District, Francis Ottah Agbo secured the APC ticket following the review.
The party also retained Hon. Blessing Onuh as its candidate for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency, Hon. Ojotu Ojema for Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, while Anthony Agom emerged as the party's candidate for Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency.
Reacting to the development, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia disclosed that he had begun presenting Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms to the party's National Assembly candidates.
According to the governor, the candidates should remain committed to the APC's ideals and prioritize service to the people.
"I charged them to remain steadfast, uphold the values of our great party, and place service to the people above all else."
Governor Alia also appealed to party supporters across Benue State to remain calm and united despite the changes.
"To our supporters across Benue, remain calm, united and confident. By the grace of God, everything will definitely end in praise."
The revised list is expected to shape the APC's preparations for the 2027 general elections in Benue State.
