An 87-year-old woman, identified as Mrs Kande Bulus, has been found dead inside the Wildlife Park Forest Reserve in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, with security authorities investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

The incident was reported at about 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, after troops of Sector 3, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), responded to a report concerning the discovery, according to security sources.

Preliminary information indicates that Bulus had left her family residence in Dong Kassa, Jos North, and gone into the forest reserve. She reportedly did not return home, prompting members of her family to begin searching for her.

Her body was subsequently discovered near a stream within the reserve.
Security sources said the deceased was found with injuries to her arm and face that were reportedly consistent with machete cuts. However, the available information does not yet establish who inflicted the injuries, the circumstances in which they occurred, or whether the death resulted from a criminal attack.

The circumstances surrounding Bulus' death remain unclear.
