The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area, Engr. Sunny Oche, has received the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Dr Oliver Ali Aba, in Igumale, Benue State. The visit formed part of a pastoral outreach aimed at strengthening faith, unity, and moral values among church members and communities.
The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area, Engr. Sunny Oche, on behalf of the government and people of the area, received the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Dr Oliver Ali Aba, JP, during a pastoral visit to Igumale.
The visit, which took place as part of the Prelate’s nationwide spiritual outreach, focused on promoting faith, unity, and moral renewal among adherents of the Church and the wider community.
According to statements made during the visit, Engr. Oche described the occasion as spiritually significant, commending the Methodist Church for the establishment of the Ado Diocese. He noted that the development reflects the historical presence and growth of the Church in Idoma land since 1924.
The Chairman also expressed appreciation that the creation of the Diocese and the Prelate’s visit occurred during his tenure, describing it as a moment of encouragement for continued service and leadership. He reaffirmed his support for the Church, both in official capacity and as a member.
In his remarks, the Prelate urged Church leaders and members to remain committed to peace, righteousness, and service to humanity. He commended the Chairman’s leadership and encouraged him to see his position as a platform for broader responsibility and impact.
He also offered prayers for continued guidance and progress in leadership.
The Prelate was accompanied by senior clerics and church officials, including bishops and lay leaders from various dioceses across Nigeria. Members of the Ado Local Government delegation also attended the event.
The visit featured prayers, fellowship, and renewed calls for unity and community development through faith-based engagement.
