Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested three suspected terrorists during a raid in Agasha, Benue State, as part of intensified operations ahead of the rainy season.
The operation, described as a pre-wet season offensive, followed credible intelligence on suspected criminal activity in the area.
Those arrested were identified as Sule Ibrahim and Salmanu Risko, both from Nasarawa State, and Abdulkareem Haruna from Jos.
Recovered items include one AK-47 rifle, 27 rounds of ammunition, magazines, and charms.
A military source said the raid forms part of efforts to secure farming communities. “Operations have been scaled up to ensure farmers can return to their lands safely,” the source noted.
