The Benue State House of Assembly Standing Committee on Power, Renewable Energy and Transport has commended the management of Benue Links Nigeria Limited following a familiarisation and oversight visit to the company’s headquarters in Makurdi.
The visit, held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, followed the recent reconstitution of House committees and the assumption of leadership by new members.
Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Moses Egbodo, said the tour was aimed at assessing operations and strengthening legislative collaboration. He praised Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for sustained support to the transport company, including salary payments, fleet expansion, fare reduction, and infrastructure development.
Egbodo expressed satisfaction with improvements in facilities and management efforts toward sustainability. He also condoled with the company over a recent accident in Otukpo and passed a vote of confidence on its leadership.
Other lawmakers, including Vice Chairman Rt. Hon. Michael Audu and Hon. Solomon Jila, described Benue Links as a responsible public institution and pledged continued legislative backing.
Responding, General Manager, Comrade Alexander Aondohemba Fanafa, said oversight engagements had strengthened operations and aligned the company with government transport policies.
“We remain committed to delivering people-oriented services in line with the administration’s vision,” he said.
The visit ended with an inspection tour of completed projects and a vote of thanks from management.
