Construction work is progressing on the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) Amusement Park at Macafa Park in Makurdi as efforts continue to develop new tourism and leisure infrastructure in Benue State.

The project is described as part of the broader vision of the administration of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia to establish a modern recreation and relaxation centre for families, children, and visitors.

When completed, the amusement park is expected to include modern leisure and entertainment facilities designed to encourage family recreation, attract visitors, and improve tourism activities within the state.

Project promoters also state that the development is expected to create employment opportunities and stimulate businesses operating within the hospitality, tourism, and service sectors.

According to the available information, the amusement park forms part of BIPC's wider investment strategy aimed at diversifying its business portfolio and strengthening Benue State's position as a tourism destination within Nigeria's North Central region.

The project is also expected to provide opportunities for interested Benue youths to acquire practical skills, with Korean and Hong Kong experts reportedly participating in aspects of the park's design and beautification.

Construction is ongoing, and no official completion date has yet been announced.
