The management of Benue Investment and Property Company has inspected the proposed site for a water filtration and sedimentation reservoir designed to improve water supply in Makurdi and surrounding areas.

The project, according to the company, will source water from the River Benue for treatment and distribution to BIPC subsidiaries and nearby communities.

The management of Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) has conducted an inspection of the proposed site for a river water filtration system and sedimentation reservoir aimed at boosting water supply to its business units and residents of Makurdi and surrounding communities.

The inspection was led by the Group Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, alongside other members of the company’s management team. According to the company, the proposed facility is expected to address water supply challenges affecting some of its Strategic Business Units (SBUs).

Dr. Asemakaha stated that the project would provide treated water to BIPC-owned establishments including the brewery, BIPC Water, and Bensono Fruits. He explained that the reservoir is expected to source raw water directly from the River Benue before treatment and distribution to consumers.

According to him, the company remains committed to ensuring the successful completion of the project, which he said would enhance productivity and improve operational efficiency across BIPC subsidiaries.

The BIPC chief also commended Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his support towards the growth and development of the company.

No timeline, project cost, or contractor details were disclosed during the inspection visit. The proposed project is yet to commence full construction as of the time of reporting.
