A fatal road accident has occurred at Cheedu along the Aliade–Makurdi road in Benue State, leaving one woman dead and three others injured. The victims, reportedly members of the same family, were said to be travelling together at the time of the incident.

There was panic and grief on Sunday following a fatal accident at Cheedu, along the busy Aliade–Makurdi (Adasu) road in Benue State.
The crash, which reportedly involved a motorcycle, claimed the life of a woman identified as the wife of the rider, Oryiman Tyoyue.

Eyewitnesses said the victim died on the spot, while the rider, a child and an elderly woman believed to be his mother-in-law survived the incident.

Sources disclosed that the victims are from Ishangev community in the state.
“The man was still talking after the accident. The wife died immediately, but the others were alive,” a source at the scene said.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Aliade Unit, have appealed to family members of the victims to urgently visit their office for identification and necessary assistance.

As at the time of filing this report, the cause of the accident had not been officially confirmed.

The Aliade–Makurdi road has remained a hotspot for accidents, raising fresh concerns over road safety compliance and enforcement in the area.
