A fatal road crash on Uni-Agric Road in North-Bank, Makurdi, has reportedly claimed lives and left others injured, amid concerns over an unfinished road project along the affected stretch.

The crash occurred on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, between the first and second gates of the Federal Housing Estate Authority (FHEA) area.

According to an eyewitness account shared by Benue News, the accident may have been connected to hazardous conditions created by minor construction work that has reportedly remained unfinished for about five months.

Photographs from the scene show a dark-coloured vehicle overturned inside a deep excavation beside the roadway. A large crowd of residents and other onlookers gathered around the scene as the aftermath of the crash was assessed.

An adjacent concrete drainage structure could also be seen containing reddish-coloured water, while residents and emergency responders appeared to be examining the area.
