Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has visited members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) injured in a road accident along the Makurdi–Lafia highway, assuring them of quality medical care and the state government’s support.

The accident occurred on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, as the party supporters travelled to Lafia, Nasarawa State, for the North Central APC Zonal Congress. The victims were rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Makurdi, for urgent treatment.

Governor Alia, who had attended the congress in Lafia, returned to Makurdi to personally assess the condition of the injured.

At the hospital, the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Terungwa Stephen Hwande, briefed the governor, confirming that all the patients had been stabilised and were responding well to treatment.

The governor expressed concern over the incident and interacted with some of the victims during the visit.

Alia wished the injured supporters a speedy recovery and commended the hospital’s medical team for their prompt response.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and ensuring the wellbeing of residents across the state.
