Governor Hyacinth Alia has praised key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State for what he described as a commitment to unity during a reconciliation meeting held in Makurdi. The meeting brought together top political figures across party lines in a renewed push for cohesion within the APC.

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has expressed appreciation to stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following a reconciliation meeting held at the New Banquet Hall of Government House, Makurdi.

The meeting, which took place on Monday, May 4, 2026, was attended by prominent political figures including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, former Governor of Benue State, Sen. Gabriel Suswam, former Deputy Governor Chief Stephen Lawani, serving and former members of the National Assembly, members of the Benue State House of Assembly, federal appointees, and other party stakeholders.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, mnipr, the Governor noted that the presence of these key stakeholders demonstrates a shared commitment to unity, stability, and progress within the APC in Benue State.

Governor Alia reportedly described the meeting as peaceful and commended the spirit of reconciliation shown by participants, noting that it represents a significant step toward rebuilding trust, confidence, and cohesion within the party structure.

He expressed optimism that the resolutions reached would usher in a new phase of peace and cooperation, urging stakeholders and supporters to sustain dialogue, mutual respect, and collective responsibility.

The Governor further called on party leaders to continue working together in the interest of peace, development, and good governance in Benue State.
