Gunmen have killed a pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), his wife, and their two children in Gako village, Rim Ward, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. The attack occurred late Sunday night, leaving the community in shock and fear.

The victims were identified as Rev. Ayuba Choji, his wife, Chundung Ayuba, and their children, Cyril Ayuba and Endurance Ayuba.
Residents said the attackers stormed the community around 11 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026, shooting sporadically and forcing villagers to flee into nearby bushes for safety.
A resident, Martha Dalyop, described the incident as part of a recurring wave of violence that has left communities in constant fear, disrupting normal life and farming activities.
Confirming the attack, the publicity secretary of the Berom Youths Moulder Association, Rwang Tengwong, said the attackers appeared to operate in coordinated groups during the raids.
According to him, while one group engages residents, others reportedly destroy farmlands or block escape routes to prevent intervention.
He further disclosed that large portions of farmland, including maize, cabbage, and hot pepper farms, were destroyed in Kassa, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area within the last 48 hours, worsening food insecurity in the region.
The latest attack adds to growing concerns over repeated violence in parts of Plateau State, where residents continue to call for stronger security presence and lasting solutions.
