A tragic kidnapping incident has left residents of Bayan Dutse in Narayi, Kaduna South Local Government Area, grieving after reports emerged that an abducted woman died in captivity and her son was allegedly killed after attempting to secure her release through ransom payment.

The incident, based largely on community accounts circulating on social media, has renewed concerns about the persistent threat of kidnapping and insecurity in parts of Kaduna State.

Residents of Bayan Dutse, Narayi, in Kaduna South Local Government Area have expressed shock following reports that a woman abducted during a December 2025 attack died while in captivity.

According to community sources, armed kidnappers demanded a ransom that exceeded what the victim's family could afford. Relatives and members of the community reportedly made efforts to raise funds, but were unable to meet the initial demand within the deadline allegedly set by the abductors.

Community accounts state that the victim's son, identified as Joshua, later volunteered to deliver the amount that had eventually been raised in hopes of securing his mother's freedom.

However, upon reaching the agreed location, Joshua was reportedly informed that his mother had already died while in captivity. Community reports further allege that after collecting the ransom, the abductors detained Joshua and later killed him.

At the time of publication, Benue Info-pedia has not independently verified these claims, and there has been no official statement confirming the reported deaths or the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The reported incident has nevertheless sparked renewed calls for stronger security measures to combat kidnapping and protect vulnerable communities across Kaduna State.
