The circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Doofan Atsehe, a Benue-born entrepreneur, have been clarified following reports that she died in a road accident in Badagry, Lagos State, on March 24, 2026.
Atsehe, who was the Chief Executive Officer of Benue Chicken in the Badagry area, had earlier been declared missing by relatives and associates after she failed to return home from work.
Her disappearance sparked concern among family members and the local community, prompting informal searches before her body was eventually discovered at the Badagry General Hospital morgue.
According to information made available to journalists, the incident occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. on the day she went missing.
Sources said Atsehe had closed from work and boarded a commercial motorcycle alongside a friend to purchase bush meat.
While en route, a tipper truck reportedly rammed into the motorcycle, killing Atsehe, her companion, and the rider instantly.
A source familiar with the incident said, “She left her shop that evening like every other day. Unfortunately, the accident happened before they reached their destination.”
Her remains have since been deposited in the hospital morgue, while the family is expected to announce burial arrangements in due course.
