The Plateau State chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria has petitioned Governor Caleb Mutfwang and security agencies over alleged attacks on Fulani communities. The group also raised concerns about reported cattle poisoning in parts of the state.

The Plateau State chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has reportedly petitioned Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other relevant authorities over what it described as persistent attacks on Fulani communities.

In a petition dated April 23, 2026, and signed by the state chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, the association alleged that its members have been subjected to repeated assaults in different parts of the state.

The group also claimed that incidents of cattle poisoning have been recorded, particularly in Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas, raising concerns about the safety of livestock and livelihoods in those communities.

According to the petition, the situation has heightened tensions and could further destabilise affected areas if not urgently addressed.

Miyetti Allah called on the Plateau State Government and security agencies, including the DSS, to investigate the allegations and take necessary measures to protect lives and property.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the Plateau State Government or the security agencies mentioned.

Plateau State has experienced recurring farmer-herder conflicts over the years, often linked to disputes over land use, grazing routes, and community tensions.
