Senator Abba Patrick Moro, representing Benue South Senatorial District, has picked his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nomination form ahead of the 2027 general elections. The exercise took place on Friday at the party’s state secretariat in Makurdi.

Senator Abba Patrick Moro on Friday obtained his Expression of Interest and Nomination Form from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at its state secretariat in Makurdi, Benue State, signalling his intention to seek re-election in 2027.

Moro, who currently represents Benue South Senatorial District and serves as Senate Minority Leader, personally purchased the form in the presence of members of the party’s State Working Committee and supporters.

Addressing party officials and supporters shortly after, the senator said his decision to pick the form himself was to demonstrate seriousness about his ambition.

“I came to buy it myself, not through proxy, to show that we are serious,” he said.

He also expressed confidence in the PDP’s political prospects, referencing what he described as a recent judicial victory that has strengthened the party’s position ahead of the next election cycle.

According to Moro, Benue South, also known as Zone C, remains a stronghold of the PDP. He pledged to work towards securing victory for himself and other candidates of the party.

“I will fight for myself and other PDP flag bearers to win our elections for our party. Zone C is a home of PDP and we shall demonstrate that in the forthcoming general elections,” he stated.

The senator further urged party members who may have lost out in internal nomination processes to remain patient and resilient, noting that political setbacks are part of the democratic process.
“It is painful to lose nomination or election, but what matters is the ability to rise,” he added.

Moro assured constituents of his continued commitment to effective representation, promising not to disappoint if given another mandate.

The PDP is one of Nigeria’s major political parties and has historically maintained strong support in parts of Benue State, particularly in the southern senatorial district.
