Aondona Dajoh. The claims have since generated counter-arguments involving current Speaker Rt. Hon. Berger Alfred Emberga, prompting widespread debate among residents and political supporters.
A new round of political accusations has erupted in Benue State after social media users exchanged claims and counterclaims involving former Speaker Rt. Hon. Aondona Dajoh and current Speaker Rt. Hon. Berger Alfred Emberga.
The controversy began when a social media user, identified as Aho ho Terungwa, alleged that Dajoh diverted constituency project funds to finance the construction of a large private hotel in Gboko. The allegation was accompanied by photographs showing a multi-storey building under construction.
The post questioned the source of funding for the project and quickly attracted reactions from members of the public.
In response, another social media user, Tivta Samuel Aondohemba, challenged the allegation and pointed to a hotel reportedly belonging to Speaker Berger Alfred Emberga, which he said had previously been commissioned by Governor Hyacinth Alia. He further questioned which of the two political figures had delivered more constituency projects to their constituents, inviting public opinion on the matter.
The exchange has intensified political discussions among supporters of both men and shifted public attention toward issues of accountability, transparency and constituency project implementation.
The latest controversy comes amid ongoing political tensions following Dajoh's removal as Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and his recent public comments on political developments in the state.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Rt. Hon. Aondona Dajoh nor Rt. Hon. Berger Alfred Emberga had issued an official statement directly responding to the latest allegations circulating on social media.
No official investigation, audit report or statement from any relevant government agency has been made public to substantiate the allegations. The claims therefore remain unverified at the time of publication.
