Early results from Katsina-Ala Local Government Area in Benue State’s ongoing Zone A Senatorial primaries reportedly indicate that former Governor and Senator, Gabriel Torwua Suswam, is taking an early lead.
The development comes amid reports of last-minute political consultations involving other key stakeholders as results continue to emerge across polling areas.
Preliminary results have begun emerging from Katsina-Ala Local Government Area in the ongoing Zone A Senatorial primaries, with early indications reportedly placing former Benue State Governor and Senator, Gabriel Torwua Suswam, in an early lead.
Sources familiar with the exercise said the former governor was maintaining a significant margin in parts of the local government area as collation continued. However, official figures and final declarations were yet to be released at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, reports from political sources indicated that Emmanuel Udende and Titus Zam allegedly attempted to reach George Akume during the intensifying contest.
According to sources, the senators reportedly expected possible political intervention concerning aspirants believed to be aligned with Hyacinth Alia. However, the anticipated intervention reportedly did not occur.
