A tragic incident has reportedly claimed the lives of two women in Tabbat community, Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State. According to eyewitnesses, the victims died after an electric pole collapsed during the cutting of a tamarind tree on Sunday evening.

The incident has left residents of the community in mourning as families and sympathisers grieve the reported loss.

A mourning atmosphere has reportedly enveloped Tabbat community in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State following an incident that allegedly resulted in the deaths of two women on Sunday evening.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred at Tabbat Kogi while a man was reportedly cutting down a tamarind tree locally known as Itulum.

Sources within the community said the tree allegedly fell onto electricity wires during the process, causing an electric pole to break and collapse.

The fallen pole reportedly struck two women who were seated nearby at the time of the incident.

Eyewitnesses claimed the victims died instantly at the scene.

Residents and sympathisers were said to have gathered shortly after the incident as the community mourned the reported deaths.

Community members described the development as painful and devastating.
