Federal Polytechnic Wannune in Benue State has announced the appointment of new management and academic officials across key departments and units of the institution. The appointments, reportedly approved by relevant academic and management bodies, cover directors, coordinators, deans and heads of departments.

Federal Polytechnic Wannune, Benue State, has unveiled a new set of management and academic appointments aimed at strengthening administrative and academic operations within the institution.

The development was announced on January 14, 2026, during a management meeting, according to a statement issued by the institution’s Information Officer, Tyough Tyubee John.

According to the statement, the appointments followed approvals and ratification by relevant academic and management authorities of the Polytechnic.

The institution announced appointments into strategic directorates and coordinating units including Academic Planning, Career Services, Research, Innovation and Development, Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Quality Assurance, Guidance and Counselling, ICT and Consultancy Services.

Among the newly appointed officials are:

Directors and Coordinators:

Dr Gesa Ter Richard – Director, Academic Planning

Dr Yua Henry – Director, Career Services Centre

Akor Apollos Akaater – Director, Research, Innovation and Development

Akorga Moses Terngu – Director, SIWES

Chief Abon Isaac – Director, Entrepreneurship Development Centre

Dr Aper Igbadio – Director, Quality Assurance

Dr Mrs Blessing Nomor – Director, Guidance and Counselling

Achimba Terfa – Coordinator, ICT Unit

The institution also announced deans for faculties including Sciences, Engineering and Management Sciences, while supervisory responsibilities were assigned for Agriculture and Environmental Sciences.

In addition, twenty Heads of Departments (HODs) were appointed across programmes including Accountancy, Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Public Administration, Statistics, Mass Communication, Agricultural programmes and General Studies.

The Rector, Dr Tyover Ashinya Dajoh, reportedly charged the appointees to immediately assume responsibilities and contribute to consolidating ongoing institutional reforms and development efforts.

According to the statement, the Rector stressed that appointments were made based on merit and warned against laxity in service delivery.

He was also quoted as saying that his administration remained focused despite what he described as “libelous and scandalous posts” circulating on some social media platforms.

Federal Polytechnic Wannune is one of Nigeria’s newer federal tertiary institutions and has continued efforts to expand academic structures and institutional development initiatives.
