A legal practitioner from Mbagba in Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State, Barr. Iorvihi Stanley Terna, has earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Adult Nursing from the University of Cumbria, United Kingdom, marking a remarkable transition from a 14-year legal career to professional nursing.
A legal practitioner from Mbagba in Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State, Barr. Iorvihi Stanley Terna, has achieved a remarkable career milestone by earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Adult Nursing from the University of Cumbria, United Kingdom, after practising law for 14 years.
The achievement represents an inspiring transition from the legal profession to healthcare, underscoring the possibilities that lifelong learning, resilience, and determination can offer regardless of one's career stage.
Barr. Iorvihi is also set to begin a new chapter as a Staff Nurse with the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, where he will contribute to patient care within the United Kingdom's National Health Service (NHS).
Before relocating to the United Kingdom in July 2023, he built a distinguished legal career in Nigeria spanning more than a decade. During that period, he founded S. T. Iorvihi & Co. (Mnguashima Chambers), a law firm named in honour of his mother, Justice Felicia Mnguashima Ikyegh.
His legal experience included service at the 2019 Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja. He also appeared before the High Court, Federal High Court, National Industrial Court, and the Court of Appeal. Beyond litigation, he served as the Diocesan Advocate of the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi.
Reflecting on his journey, Barr. Iorvihi described the transition as moving "from the courtroom to the bedside," explaining that although his profession has changed, his commitment to improving lives remains constant.
His story highlights the value of continuous education and professional reinvention, demonstrating that careers can evolve while remaining rooted in service to humanity.
