Shock and grief have swept through the medical community following the death of Dr. Tyoor Cedric Kondom, a medical graduate of Benue State University, who reportedly passed away only days before his induction into the medical profession.

His death, announced by the Benue Medical and Dental Students' Association (BEMSA-National), has triggered an outpouring of tributes from colleagues, friends, and members of the wider medical community.

The medical community in Benue State is mourning the loss of Dr. Tyoor Cedric Kondom, a recent graduate of Medicine and Surgery from Benue State University, who died shortly before his scheduled induction as a medical doctor.

In a tribute issued by the Benue Medical and Dental Students' Association (BEMSA-National), the association described the deceased as a dedicated and hardworking colleague whose passing has left many devastated.

According to the statement, Dr. Kondom passed away on June 18, 2026, after successfully completing the demanding requirements of medical training. He was reportedly just days away from formally joining the medical profession through induction.

BEMSA noted that his years in medical school were marked by resilience, commitment, and determination. The association described his death as a significant loss not only to fellow medical students and graduates but also to the broader healthcare community.

Friends and colleagues have also expressed their grief on social media, recalling the sacrifices involved in completing medical training and lamenting that he died so close to achieving a major professional milestone.

One tribute noted that after spending approximately ten years studying Medicine and serving at General Hospital Gboko, Dr. Kondom was only days away from induction when he died unexpectedly.
