The Achado Educare Scholarship Programme has disbursed ₦40,000 each to 476 students in Gwer East and Gwer West Local Government Areas of Benue State, as part of its Batch B intervention for 2026.

The scholarship scheme, sponsored by the Member representing Gwer East/Gwer West Federal Constituency, Arc. Dr. Asema Achado, was officially launched on February 19, 2026. It targets both indigenes and residents of the constituency who are registered voters.
Earlier, the programme awarded ₦100,000 each to 20 Law School students, totaling ₦2 million.

According to the Central Planning Committee, 774 applications were received before the Batch B portal closed on March 6. Following screening, 476 qualified applicants were selected and paid, bringing total disbursement so far to ₦21,040,000.
The latest payments, which began on March 16 through various banks, are expected to be completed within three days.

In response to over 900 additional applications received after the portal closure, Achado has approved an increase in the scholarship budget to ₦30 million to accommodate more beneficiaries later in the year.

The committee reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and fairness in the selection process.
“The initiative reflects Arc. Dr. Achado’s dedication to education as a key pillar of his development agenda,” the statement said.

It added that the programme is designed to empower young people through sustainable academic support and opportunities.
