Troops of Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI have arrested five suspected kidnappers and recovered arms and ammunition during an intelligence-led operation in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State. Military authorities say the operation targeted a criminal corridor allegedly used by kidnappers and other criminal elements operating within the area.

Troops of Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI have recorded another operational success in the ongoing counterterrorism and anti-crime campaign across Nigeria's North-East region.

According to military authorities, troops acting on credible intelligence conducted a coordinated operation along a known criminal route in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State. The operation resulted in the arrest of five suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate allegedly responsible for criminal activities affecting residents within the area.

During the operation, troops reportedly recovered two AK-47 rifles, magazines and ammunition. Security officials said the seizure significantly disrupted the group's operational capacity and prevented the weapons from being used in future criminal activities.

Military sources stated that preliminary investigations suggest the suspects may be linked to kidnapping and related criminal operations in parts of Borno State. The suspects are currently in custody and are assisting investigators seeking to identify and apprehend other members of the alleged criminal network.

The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by Operation HADIN KAI to combat terrorism, kidnapping, banditry and other security threats across the North-East.

Security authorities maintain that sustained intelligence gathering, community cooperation and targeted operations remain critical to restoring lasting peace and stability in areas affected by insecurity.

The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property while continuing offensive operations against terrorists and criminal groups across the country.
